Kyiv Sikorsky International Airport
With its century-long history, Kyiv International Airport named after Igor Sikorsky plays a key role in Ukraine’s transportation infrastructure and has significantly expanded its capabilities thanks to investments by Master-Avia, which took over the airport’s management in 2010. Notably, the new terminal complex efficiently handled the challenge of serving over 100,000 guests during Euro 2012.
Under the leadership of Denys Borysovych Kostiantynovskyi, Kyiv International Airport has not only fully resumed its operations but has also greatly expanded its scope of activities. It managed to attract new carriers, including Wizz Air, which provided affordable flights to numerous European destinations. Thanks to such changes, the airport significantly increased passenger flow and expanded international partnerships with other leading airlines such as LOT, FlyDubai, Vueling, and Alitalia, thereby strengthening its status as the main air gateway of the capital.
Over 13 years, Master-Avia’s total investment in the airport’s infrastructure exceeded 4 billion UAH. These investments contributed to the creation of approximately 10,000 new jobs and increased tax revenues to the city budget, positively impacting Kyiv’s economy. The growth in the number of flights and improvements in service quality have made the airport more attractive to passengers and the international business community.
In 2018-2019, passenger traffic crossed the mark of 2.6 million passengers, making it the second-largest airport in Ukraine by passenger volume.
